WILLEMSTAD - Prime Minister Gilmar Pisas recently met with the board of Surinam Airways (SLM), along with Minister of Economic Development Ruisandro Cijntje and Minister of Traffic, Transportation and Urban Planning Charles Cooper and their respective councils.

Representing SLM were acting CEO/VP of Operations/Account Manager Seven Gonesh, Corporate Planner/Commercial Affairs Angela Landbrug, and President Commissioner Ganesh Laigsingh. They were accompanied by the Consul General of the Republic of Suriname, Krista Zuiverloon.
SLM expressed a desire to work with Curaçao in the future, and one of the ways they plan to do this is by using the Hato airport as a hub for various routes that the company plans to operate in the future. These routes include, among others, Curaçao-Miami, Curaçao-Republic of Santo Domingo, and Curaçao-Port-au-Prince.
SLM sees Curaçao as a strategic and potential partner that can create positive opportunities for the growth of the company. They will conduct further studies and come back to the table with the Government of Curaçao.
The meeting took place in a positive atmosphere.
