WILLEMSTAD - Last week the Prime Minister of Curaçao Eugene Rhuggenaath met the Consul General of Portugal in Caracas, Mr. Linicio Bingre do Amaral.
During this visit they discussed various topics, including commercial and family ties between Portugal, especially Madeira, and Curaçao. Also, about the historical ties with the Sephardic Jewish community in Curaçao, which has its roots in Portugal.
“It is important to further investigate how we can build on this basis and also to explore the export possibilities for Portugal to the Caribbean, with Curaçao as a hub. We are therefore very much looking forward to receiving Mr. Miguel Albuquerque, the President of Madeira, in May this year,” said the Prime Minister in his social media.
