Prime Minister Gilmar Pisas welcomes Colombian Ambassador to the Kingdom of the Netherlands

WILLEMSTAD - During a high-level official visit, the Ambassador of Colombia to the Kingdom of the Netherlands, the honorable Mrs. Carolina Olarte Bácares, held an important meeting with the Prime Minister of Curaçao, Mr. Gilmar Pisas. The mission was to explore and develop diplomatic and cultural bridges between Colombia and the countries of the Kingdom of the Netherlands. The visit symbolizes the strong relationship between the two nations and the shared desire to elevate their cooperation to a higher level. 

During the productive dialogue between the Prime Minister and the Colombian delegation in Forti, key topics such as culture, education, and commerce between Curaçao and Colombia were discussed, based on mutual respect and benefit for both countries. 

Prime Minister Pisas also emphasized that his Cabinet is committed to seeking sustainable solutions, particularly regarding immigration, especially concerning the management of Colombian descendants visiting Curaçao. 

To celebrate the success of the visit, the Colombian delegation invited local ministers to an authentic Colombian gastronomic experience at Restaurant Bocas. During the event, everyone enjoyed the vibrant diversity of Colombian cuisine, encapsulated in a series of dishes representing the country’s culinary traditions. The event culminated in an artistic performance by a Colombian dance group, bringing joy and dynamism that characterize the nation's culture. 

Ambassador Olarte Bácares’ visit marks an important step in strengthening diplomatic, commercial, and cultural relations between Colombia and Curaçao. Prime Minister Pisas’ Cabinet reaffirmed its commitment to continuing collaboration, maintaining an ongoing dialogue, with the conviction that this partnership will result in mutual benefits for both nations.
