"Prime Minister Gilmar Pisas receives Governor of Falcon, Venezuela"

WILLEMSTAD - On October 4, 2023, Prime Minister Gilmar Pisas received the Governor of Falcon, Venezuela, Victor Clark. 

The delegation led by Victor Clark included Sergio Quintero (Secretary of Economy), Yves Marcano (Secretary of Tourism), Erick Uzcátegui (President of the Port Authority), and Jessica Perozo. The Consul General of Venezuela in Curaçao, Marisol Guttierez de Almeida, accompanied the delegation. 

During the visit, discussions revolved around various topics of mutual interest between Falcon and Curaçao. These included mutual economic contributions, the irregular flow of Venezuelans coming to Curaçao, visa matters, promoting Curaçao's tourism in Falcon now that the borders are open, creating opportunities and activities for the agriculture and fishing sectors, and the possibility of a fair between Falcon and Curaçao. 

During his stay in Curaçao, Clark took the opportunity to hold discussions with various local authorities and organizations, including the Ministry of Economic Development, CINEX, CTB (Curaçao Tourist Board), Curinde, Customs, Port Authority, Chamber of Commerce, VBC (Business Association Curaçao), and the Parliament. He expressed his satisfaction with the conversations he had with these different entities. 

Clark also expressed their contentment with the process that has been ongoing since the borders opened and the services they have received from Curaçao's authorities and professionals. 

Prime Minister Pisas expressed the government of Curaçao's desire to maintain strong ties with its neighboring Venezuela. 

At the end of the visit, there was an exchange of gifts between both countries.
