WILLEMSTAD - Prime Minister Mr. Gilmar Pisas, together with the Minister of Traffic, Transportation, and Urban Planning Mr. Charles Cooper, met with the Director of Government Relations of Avianca, Dr. Viviana Martín, on July 7, 2023.
Ms. Martín is also the President and General Manager of Avianca in Costa Rica.
She was accompanied by Mr. Omar Cardona, who is a Manager at Avianca.
During this meeting, the ministers were informed that Avianca is making significant effective changes that will benefit the company itself as well as its passengers.
Explanations were provided regarding all the changes and projects that Avianca is undertaking, including the new strategy aimed at reducing expenses and the projects that Avianca wishes to carry out in close cooperation with Curaçao.
There was also an exchange of ideas on the various destinations that can be expanded, making flights such as Curaçao-Bogota-Miami and vice versa even more attractive.

Avianca has connections to many countries in South America, Central America, North America, and Europe.
The company is considered the number one airline in the world for being "On Time." This means that the airline is always punctual!
In connection with this and to maintain the good reputation they have for always being on time, attention was given to the part of the service they receive at the Immigration Department in Curaçao, which requires some attention from the government’s side.
Ms. Martín mentioned that they have been having discussions with Immigration in Curaçao, especially regarding the admission and verification process.
She also mentioned that they have had conversations with the Curaçao Tourist Board (CTB) and Customs, and they are awaiting a discussion with the Minister of Economic Development.
This meeting was very fruitful, and all parties involved expressed satisfaction with the outcome.
