WILLEMSTAD – Priest Carlos was released on conditional bail on Wednesday, pending the outcome of an ongoing money laundering investigation.
His attorney, Seyed Navid Zahedi, confirmed the conditional release in an interview, stating that while the investigation is still ongoing, many of the accusations appear to be unfounded.
The priest was arrested on February 17 upon his arrival in Curaçao from Colombia, in connection with the money laundering case. Authorities have not yet disclosed further details regarding the conditions of his release or the next steps in the investigation.
