Price of gasoline, propane gas and water will go up, electricity tariff will go down slightly

WILLEMSTAD - Drivers on the island will again have to pay a little more at the gas station starting this Tuesday. The use of water will also become slightly more expensive. The price for a large propane tank will even increase by 10 guilders. The rate of electricity, on the other hand, will decrease slightly.

The Bureau Telecommunication and Post (BT&T) published the new rates yesterday.

It is only a slight increase, but the price increases are starting to pile up. For example, the price of a liter of petrol was still below 2 guilders at the beginning of the year. From Tuesday, June 1, the motorist will pay 2.25 guilders for a liter of Mogas 95. The rate for diesel (gas oil) will increase slightly, from 1.68 guilders to 1.78 guilders.

The price for propane gas is increasing significantly. For a cylinder of 100 lbs you no longer pay 70 guilders on Tuesday, but 80 guilders. And a small cylinder of 20 lbs will not cost 14 guilders but 16 guilders.

The rate for electricity has decreased slightly; from 63.3 cents to 61.3 cents for use up to 250 kWh. Water then becomes slightly more expensive. From June, you pay 8.81 guilders per cubic meter for household consumption (up to 9 cubic meters) instead of 8.75 guilders.
