Price of gasoline and diesel increases slightly, water and electricity prices decrease

Local | By Correspondent August 29, 2024

WILLEMSTAD - Starting Tuesday, September 3, gasoline and diesel prices in Curaçao will see a slight increase. A liter of regular gasoline will become one cent more expensive, costing 2.17 guilders starting Tuesday. Diesel will rise by 11 cents per liter, bringing the price to 1.80 guilders. Meanwhile, electricity and water rates will decrease starting Sunday, September 1, according to the Regulatory Authority of Curaçao (RAC) in their monthly update on these developments.

The RAC monitors price changes for oil products and utilities. The price for both large and small gas cylinders remains unchanged: 16 guilders for a small gas tank and 80 guilders for a large one. The drop in electricity rates is attributed to lower average fuel costs for electricity production, while the decrease in water rates is a result of reduced electricity costs, according to the RAC.
