WILLEMSTAD - The government has announced that from November 24 to 28, all individuals and businesses located in Section B-01 — covering the Carnival route between Mirlaplateweg and Palu Blanku — must register for prekario.
Prekario is a mandatory temporary-use permit that allows individuals or companies to place commercial structures such as stands, scaffolding, kiosks, or other installations along the Carnival route. The permit ensures order, safety, and official authorization during large public events.
Authorities confirmed that every parcel along the route has now been digitally identified. Users must formally register and pay the required prekario fee. Only after full payment will they receive the official ministerial decree (MB), which grants legal permission to use their assigned space. Without this document, occupation of the parcel is prohibited.
The Prekario Team is urging all participants to follow the established rules strictly. Any construction that is placed outside the marked area, any unauthorized markings, or the use of unsafe or non-compliant structures will lead to immediate removal and may jeopardize a participant’s ability to take part in future Carnival activities.
The government says these measures are essential to maintain safety and order along one of the island’s largest and most anticipated event routes.
