Population Curacao is shrinking

WILLEMSTAD - The population of Curacao is shrinking for the second year in a row. According to the information received from the Registrar’s Office (Kranshi), 1347 less people were registered compared to a year ago.

There are still 158,989 legal residents on the island. Many of the departures indicate that they are leaving the island in view of the poor economy. Popular destinations are the Netherlands, Bonaire, Colombia and U.S.A.
