WILLEMSTAD - Politician Zita Jesus-Leito has announced that she will not participate in the 2025 elections.- The member of the Curaçao Parliament resigned from the political party PAR in March of this year, a party she represented for many years. 

The reason for her departure from PAR was a difference in vision for the future, particularly concerning the upcoming 2025 elections. According to news reports, she expressed a hope that young people with vision and passion will step up to help move Curaçao forward politically. Jesus-Leito believes she has made her contribution to Curaçao and continues to hope for improvements for the country. 

Jesus-Leito also mentioned that she has no plans to join another political party or to continue her political career under a different banner.
