WILLEMSTAD – On Monday evening, the Curaçao Police Force (KPC) conducted a general traffic control on Schottegatweg-Zuid, inspecting 110 vehicles. The operation resulted in 76 fines being issued for various traffic violations, according to a statement from the police.
Many drivers were found to be non-compliant with legal requirements. Violations included driving without a valid driver’s license, insurance, or paid vehicle tax. Fines were also issued for not wearing seat belts and for vehicles with cracked or damaged windshields.
The traffic checks are part of a broader campaign aimed at improving road safety in Curaçao and raising awareness of traffic regulations among drivers. The police emphasized that these inspections will continue regularly and urged road users to ensure their vehicles and documents are always in order.
Through this approach, the police aim to prevent accidents and enhance safety on the island’s roads.
