Police Investigates Death of 5-Year-Old in Fuik

WILLEMSTAD – The police are investigating the death of a five-year-old boy who was found dead late Tuesday evening in a home in the Fuik neighborhood. His mother discovered him lifeless on his bed. This marks the third child of this mother to die under similar circumstances.

The police, along with detectives and the Team for Combating Undermining (TFO), have immediately launched an investigation. The recurring nature of these tragic events, where young children have died and were repeatedly found by the same mother, has prompted a thorough forensic and judicial approach.

Initial reports suggest that the boy had likely been deceased for some time before he was discovered. Authorities immediately took possession of the body for an autopsy, which is expected to determine the cause of death.

The boy’s school in the Janwé neighborhood held a meeting with the teaching staff on Wednesday morning. Later, a statement was issued informing the parents of other students about the tragedy. In remembrance, the entire school community observed a moment of silence.

The police have emphasized that the investigation is ongoing and have requested that no further details be disclosed at this time in order to avoid compromising the inquiry.
