Police Foil Armed Robbery at KFC in Colon — One Suspect Arrested

WILLEMSTAD - The Curaçao Police Force (KPC) intervened swiftly on Saturday night to stop an armed robbery at the KFC restaurant in Colon, near the Curaçao Medical Center (CMC).

According to a police report, officers responded immediately after receiving the alert and pursued the suspects. The chase led to the Dòmi Abou neighborhood, where police arrested an 18-year-old man in connection with the robbery.

During follow-up investigations in Dòmi Abou and Dòmi Ariba, officers recovered clothing items, a cash box belonging to KFC, and several other objects believed to have been used or taken by the perpetrators. Police also seized a vehicle suspected of being used as a getaway car.

Earlier that evening, police had already received a report about a suspicious vehicle near the Protestant Cemetery of Santa Ana on Swammerdamstraat, where men dressed in black were seen.

The investigation is ongoing, and police have not ruled out additional arrests as they continue to track down others involved in the incident.
