Police ask for extra attention for Bandariba burglaries

WILLEMSTAD - The Curaçao Police Force (KPC) has organized several meetings with local residents of Montaña, Sint Joris, Langule, Katoentuin, Rooi Santu and the Caracasbaaiweg in response to the many burglaries. There is an increasing number of burglaries in homes of elderly people living alone.

More meetings will be held for the residents of Bandariba in the coming days. During the sessions, the police and residents discussed what they can do together to fight crime.

There were calls for better street lighting and removing bushes, where the burglars often hide. Several neighborhood guards have also been set up.

The police will increase the number of patrols in the evening and at night, with both police vehicles and undercover teams. In addition, the KPC has set up a special team to combat burglaries. The team has been conducting an extensive investigation since Monday and has an overview of several suspects, according to the Corps. The team is assisted by the Montaña detective and police.

The police are making an urgent appeal to everyone to immediately report a suspicious situation in the area.
