WILLEMSTAD - A 22-year-old man was arrested on Saturday evening in the Brievengat neighborhood following a brief pursuit by the Police Action Team, according to a press release from the Curaçao Police Force (KPC).

The suspect reportedly tried to flee earlier on Corriweg, but officers managed to catch him after a short foot chase.

During the arrest, police found a quantity of drugs and a firearm component in the man’s possession. Both items were confiscated as evidence.

The suspect remains in custody pending further investigation, the police said.
