WILLEMSTAD – With just over a week to go until Curaçao’s upcoming parliamentary elections, the Progressive National Party (PNP) presented its key political positions during a press conference on Monday. Party leader Dudley Lucia highlighted several significant proposals, including plans to reduce the OB-tax (sales tax) rate and allocate two cents from each liter of gasoline sold to fund education.
Lucia emphasized that these measures aim to improve the living conditions of both the general public and students, aligning with the party's focus on supporting education and making life more affordable for Curaçao’s citizens. The proposal to reserve a portion of gasoline sales for education funding marks a new initiative to address the long-term needs of the country’s educational system.
As the election date approaches, PNP’s agenda reflects its commitment to improving both the economic well-being of the population and the quality of education for future generations.
