WILLEMSTAD - Member of Parliament Sheldry Osepa of the PNP is pressing the Pisas government for its stance on the decision made by the Dutch government to enlist the services of Transparency International. According to State Secretary Zsolt Szabó, the organization is expected to conduct an investigation into corruption in Curaçao, Aruba, and Sint Maarten. Szabó recently mentioned this during discussions in the Tweede Kamer (Dutch Parliament), indicating that preparations are underway for the study by the organization.
While the proposal has received positive reactions in the Tweede Kamer, the government on the island has yet to respond, prompting Osepa to seek clarity on their position.
Osepa has submitted a series of questions to Prime Minister Pisas and is hoping for a prompt response. The PNP and MFK formed a coalition government until August of this year, when the PNP withdrew from the administration.
