WILLEMSTAD - The Ministry of Health, Environment, and Nature (GMN) has announced that Playa Kenepa Grandi, also known as Grote Knip, will be temporarily closed to the public on Monday. The decision comes after an inspection revealed that several palapas (beach huts) on the popular beach have been infested with white termites.
In order to prevent any inconvenience for visitors and to protect the beach infrastructure, the ministry decided to restrict access temporarily. The termite issue will be addressed using biological products to minimize environmental impact.
The closure is scheduled for one day only, with the beach set to reopen on Tuesday. The GMN reassures the public that these measures are being taken to ensure a safe and pleasant environment for all visitors.
