WILLEMSTAD - The makeover of Caracasbaai is set to begin shortly. Movement on the project, which is divided into five phases, is expected in the coming weeks, as reported by Antilliaans Dagblad.
The first phase of the redevelopment is called 'Caracasbaai West.' The work will start on the side of the roundabout towards Jan Thiel and progressively extend towards the peninsula. The other four phases include 'Caracasbaai Middle,' 'Caracasbaai East,' 'Padel Court + Tribune,' and 'Sand Football + Concert.'
A video with animations of the planned 'makeover' shared earlier this year shows a significant contrast between the updated bay and its current appearance. The beach, which draws many locals for barbecues and music on weekends, might see changes in its usage in the new scenario.
Djurick Comenentia, the chief of staff for Prime Minister Gilmar Pisas (MFK), assures that the character of Caracasbaai will remain 'purely local' but with improved facilities for visitors. "The plans as shown in the project video remain unchanged," said Comenentia.
