Local | By Correspondent January 20, 2025

WILLEMSTAD Javier Silvania, the current Minister of Finance, has claimed a prominent position on the candidates' list of the Movementu Futuro Kòrsou (MFK) for the upcoming elections on March 21. In a surprising shift from his lower placement in the previous election, Silvania now occupies the second spot, directly following party leader and Prime Minister Gilmar ‘Pik’ Pisas.

Over the weekend, MFK unveiled its full list of 29 candidates during a special event highlighted by musical performances. As per tradition, the list begins with current ministers and Members of Parliament, followed by other party members. Among the candidates are five women, including Charetti America-Francisca, the current Chair of Parliament, who holds the fourth position on the list.

The top six spots are dominated by the current ministers, with parliamentarians Gilbert Doran, David Seferina, and Rigoletto Thodé appearing further down the lineup.
