WILLEMSTAD – Minister Charles Cooper of Traffic, Transport and Urban Planning (VVRP), together with the Department of Public Works, announced yesterday that Penstraat has been temporarily closed for a period of two weeks due to infrastructure works.
Work officially began yesterday and involves relocating the sewer pump station to a new location. As a result, Penstraat will remain closed to through traffic during this period. However, residents and businesses in the area will continue to have access to their properties without restrictions.
To minimize disruption, detour signs and warning arrows have been placed to guide drivers who normally use the route. The Curaçaose Wegenbouw Maatschappij (CWM) is responsible for carrying out the works.
Minister Cooper urged the public for understanding and cooperation during the project, which aims to improve essential infrastructure in the area.
