WILLEMSTAD - The payment of the motor vehicle tax (MRB) that motorists must pay remains only physically possible. This is evident from the advice of the National Tax Department to Minister of Finance Javier Silvania.
The Tax Department calls it 'extremely undesirable' to have the MRB paid online. If this is chosen, the process would take even longer than it already does. The road user could make the payment online, but then still have to collect the tax card and sticker. A solution to this is to mail the documents, but this is impossible due to a lack of staff at the Tax Department.
It would be an option to pay the MRB to the Inspectorate in the WTC, according to the advice. People must then have their documents in order, just as with payments at Cpost and ACU. Nevertheless, there is no concrete plan for this yet.
