WILLEMSTAD - Ana-Maria Pauletta, a member of the Curaçao Parliament, has called for more transparency regarding official trips taken by parliamentarians. During a meeting this week, Pauletta expressed concerns about manipulation by some colleagues when deciding who gets to participate in foreign trips. She also accused some members of providing misleading information to the public.
Pauletta believes that all foreign travel by members of Parliament should be made public, and she is requesting more details on the budget available for these trips.
Earlier, Pauletta voiced her concerns over an invitation extended to the Parliament by Fundashon Kas Popular, a local housing foundation, to visit a housing project in the Dominican Republic. She criticized the foundation for focusing on projects abroad while neglecting the poor state of housing on the island.
