WILLEMSTAD - The Patrol Vessel Zr.Ms. Groningen made a temporary stop at the port of Otrobanda in Curaçao on Tuesday. A representative from the Defense in the Caribbean region clarified that the vessel was docked for a logistical pause.
Since April 8, the Zr.Ms. Groningen has resumed its duties as a patrol vessel in the Caribbean region. It is scheduled to continue serving in this capacity for the foreseeable future, participating in counter-narcotics operations alongside partners such as the United States Coast Guard and the Caribbean Coast Guard.
The presence of the Zr.Ms. Groningen in the region is not new. Over the past four years, the vessel has been actively involved and has played a significant role in various drug interdiction operations.
Following its brief stay, the patrol vessel has now departed from the port, resuming its ongoing mission in safeguarding maritime security in the Caribbean waters.
