WILLEMSTAD - Patrick Newton says it's clear that they're in the middle of the "emission" and there shouldn't be any problem.
According to the statement from the director of the Curaçao Refinery (RdK), “the judge said that while there isn't a law that needs to stay under 40, they can continue operations and then with the production of this asphalt, we'll be under 40. We're getting ready, but it's in the judge's hands, we don't know if they're going to make a case, but we're well-prepared," Newton explained.
Patrick Newton says it's clear that they're in the middle of the "emission" and there shouldn't be any problem. "We're going to start the refinery and finally, it has to run completely on gas. What used to happen in the past is that they used "Pitch" which can't be used anymore, and you lower the SO2 significantly, and you're within the WAO management line," Newton indicated.
He explains that the law has gone for notice and he hopes the law will be ready very soon so that everyone knows what they need to abide by.
"We'll start asphalt at the beginning of 2024, right now we're going to start with full repairs," said RdK director, Mr. Patrick Newton.
