Parliamentarian Pauletta Warns Against Social Media Scams

Local | By Press release January 27, 2025

WILLEMSTAD – Member of Parliament for the PAR party Ana-Maria Pauletta is alerting the entire community of Curaçao about an ongoing scam that uses her photo and name.

This issue began circulating on social media several months ago and continues to spread. When using platforms like Facebook and Instagram, she urges everyone to stay vigilant against this scam.

The scammers are using a fabricated story to extort money from innocent people.

Pauletta clarifies that she is neither aware of nor involved in any financial scheme promising quick earnings.

These fraudulent practices are illegal, and Pauletta has already reported the necessary cases to the Police Force. The police have initiated an investigation to identify and apprehend the groups or individuals involved in these criminal acts.

While social media offers positive benefits, it can also serve as a platform for criminals seeking their next victims. Avoid becoming a target by not clicking on suspicious links and refraining from sharing them. Always verify and double-check any information you encounter on social media.
