Parliament to review Anthony Godett’s credentials this Thursday

Local | By Correspondent November 20, 2024

WILLEMSTAD - The Parliament of Curaçao is set to review the credentials of Anthony Godett in a public meeting scheduled for Thursday at 11:00 a.m.

This follows the resignation of Michelangelo “Lo” Martines, leader of the KEM party, who last week submitted a letter to the parliamentary chair announcing his decision to vacate his seat. Martines, who is under investigation for alleged involvement in money laundering and drug trafficking, will officially step down retroactively effective November 5.

Anthony Godett, who placed second on KEM’s candidate list during the 2021 elections, has expressed his willingness to join Parliament. As required, an official review of his credentials will be conducted before he can assume the position.

The meeting marks a significant step in confirming Godett’s appointment amidst ongoing developments within the KEM party.
