WILLEMSTAD - Parliament is meeting this afternoon about the ailing Damen shipyard. The management of Damen Shiprepair Curaçao and CDM Holding will explain the latest developments at the company together with the Minister of Economic Development.
Damen's parent company has given the shipyard one more chance to recover from the losses. This year, the Curaçao branch must finally make a profit, or at least break even. The company received a capital injection last year to upgrade the infrastructure. The meeting has been requested by the coalition party MFK.
