WILLEMSTAD – Paradise FM and Dolfijn FM are joining forces during the Curaçao North Sea Jazz Festival 2026, with DJs from both radio stations broadcasting live together from the festival grounds at the World Trade Center in Piscadera Bay.
The joint broadcasts will take place on Thursday, September 3, Friday, September 4 and Saturday, September 5, starting at 4:00 p.m. each day.
The collaboration is intended to demonstrate that radio stations do not always have to operate within the boundaries of their own platforms. By combining their experience, creativity and audience reach, Paradise FM and Dolfijn FM hope to bring the atmosphere of one of Curaçao's biggest music events to an even wider audience.
Throughout the three festival days, DJs from both stations will cover performances, interview artists and visitors and provide listeners with updates on activities taking place on and around the festival grounds.
Friday evening will feature a special musical reunion when veteran radio personalities Ferry Maat and Ruud Zegwaart present a joint two-hour program from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.
Maat is widely known for his legendary Soulshow, which played an important role in introducing and popularizing soul, funk and disco on Dutch radio beginning in the 1970s. His career has been recognized with honors including the Gouden Harp and the Marconi Oeuvre Award.
Zegwaart, who currently presents SoulGrooves on Dolfijn FM, also has a long history in soul music and radio. His connection with Maat goes back decades: Zegwaart was part of the Bond van Doorstarters, the popular DJ mixing segment featured in Maat's Soulshow.
Another reunion will bring Paradise FM's Joris Reer and Dolfijn FM's Egon Sybrandy behind the microphone together again after several years. Both have extensive experience in Curaçao's media sector and currently lead their respective radio stations.
The cooperation comes as Curaçao prepares for three days of major international performances at the Curaçao North Sea Jazz Festival.
The 2026 festival runs from September 3 through September 5 at the World Trade Center and features an international lineup that includes Gente de Zona, Rubén Blades, Toto, The Jacksons, Sean Paul, Stephen Marley, J Balvin and Jon Batiste.
Since its first edition in 2010, Curaçao North Sea Jazz has developed into one of the Caribbean's major international music festivals. Previous editions have brought artists including Prince, Stevie Wonder, Bruno Mars, Sting, Alicia Keys and Lionel Richie to the island.
Paradise FM broadcasts on 103.1 FM, while Dolfijn FM can be heard on 97.3 FM. Both stations will begin their joint festival broadcasts at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday, Friday and Saturday.
