WILLEMSTAD - The PAR is calling for an emergency meeting regarding socio-emotional care for students attending school. Specifically, this concerns a gathering for the Central Committee of parliament.
Members of the PAR came up with the idea after a law was passed in Chile concerning 'emotional education'. This is not only about protecting students on an emotional level but also about their development.
There is an increasing number of incidents occurring among youth on Curaçao who experience problems on a socio-emotional level. Due to these issues, students are no longer able to focus on learning, as stated by the PAR. Therefore, the government should develop a plan of action.
The request to discuss this approach has been submitted by the party to the Central Committee of the Estates. All school boards (DOS, RK, and VPCO) and other foundations subsidized by the government have been invited to participate.
