WILLEMSTAD - The PAR faction in parliament wants to meet about the business opportunities of the refinery. Especially about projects that create jobs in the short term. They want to exchange ideas about this with the boards of Curaçao Refinery (RdK) and Curoil.
The opposition party has submitted a request for this to the President of Parliament. Prime Minister Pisas is said to have given instructions to government companies RdK and Curoil to do business with the refinery as soon as possible. He would have said that in January in parliament. It is now known that the government is looking for a new partner after a failed negotiation with Caribbean Petroleum Refinery (CPR). There are about 2000 people interested in working on the refinery site.
