WILLEMSTAD – Seven dogs broke into a private property over the weekend and viciously attacked a group of goats, killing several on the spot and leaving around twenty others seriously injured.
According to the owners, some of the goats were immediately mauled to death, with the dogs beginning to eat them on-site. The deceased animals have since been taken to the landfill, while the injured goats remain on the property for treatment.
Risk of Tetanus Infection
Stanley Ignacio, a special police officer responsible for animal-related matters, has advised the owners to seek veterinary care as soon as possible. Due to the severity of the bites, the goats are at high risk of contracting tetanus, which can be fatal. A special tetanus injection is needed to prevent further losses.
The owners have stated that they will file a complaint against the dogs' owner, as the responsible party is known. Authorities may take further action to prevent similar incidents in the future.
