ATLANTA – Curaçaoan baseball star Ozzie Albies recorded his 1,000th Major League hit on June 9 during the Atlanta Braves’ 7–1 victory over the Milwaukee Brewers.
Born in Willemstad in 1997, Albies has been a cornerstone of the Braves since his debut in 2017. Unlike some players who reached their 1,000-hit mark across multiple teams, Albies achieved every one of his hits in a Braves uniform. His most productive season came in 2019, when he led the National League with 189 hits.
The milestone came as part of a strong team performance that also marked the end of a seven-game losing streak for the Braves, helping the team regain momentum in their season.
