ATLANTA – Ozzie Albies has been ranked among the ten best second basemen in Major League Baseball, according to a fan poll conducted by Major League Baseball. The Curaçao-born player placed seventh on the list, which was compiled based on responses from fans of professional baseball in the United States.
Albies finished just ahead of Brendan Donovan of the St. Louis Cardinals and just behind Jazz Chisholm Jr. of the New York Yankees. The top position in the ranking was claimed by Ketel Marte of the Arizona Diamondbacks.
Other players included in the top ten are Nico Hoerner of the Chicago Cubs, Brice Turang of Washington, José Altuve of the Houston Astros, Ernie Clement of the Toronto Blue Jays, Marcus Semien of the New York Mets and Gleyber Torres of the Detroit Tigers.
Albies has been a key player for the Atlanta Braves for several years and is widely regarded internationally as one of the most complete second basemen in the game, known for his offensive production, defensive skills and consistency.
For Curaçao, the recognition once again highlights the island’s strong presence in international baseball, with local talent continuing to earn accolades at the highest level of the sport.
