WILLEMSTAD - During a traffic inspection operation on Nijlweg, more than 3000 guilders in fines were collected. The inspection, aimed at enforcing the speed limit, took place between 10:00 AM and 12:00 PM in the morning.
The initiative "Paga bo But" by the Public Prosecutor, which allows offenders to pay their fines directly, facilitated the collection. Additionally, checks were made to see if there were outstanding fines under the drivers' names.
In total, 44 vehicles were inspected, with 23 fines issued for speeding and 25 for other violations. The violations included driving without a valid driver's license, a valid inspection card, paid vehicle tax, valid insurance, and driving a vehicle with a tinted windshield. Three vehicles were towed away.
