WILLEMSTAD - Yesterday, more than 3,000 people took to the streets of Veeris for the Strides for Smiles walk, a five-kilometer event. Strides for Smiles is an initiative by the Ronald McDonald House Charities Curaçao, the Prinses Wilhelmina Fonds, and the Curaçao Children’s Museum, attracting over 3,000 participants.

These three organizations are dedicated to the well-being of children and their families in Curaçao. The Strides for Smiles Foundation promotes long-term partnerships among child-focused foundations, fostering mutual support and collective impact.

Participants enjoyed various activities such as watersplash, ice cream, paint splashes, street entertainment, opera music, a block maze, a carnival-like atmosphere, various street DJs, and much more. The morning concluded with a Blue Blast.

This year marked the first edition of the event, which is planned to be held annually on the first Sunday of June.
