WILLEMSTAD – Member of Parliament for the coalition party PNP, Sheldry Osepa, yesterday in a letter to the Ministers of Finance and Economic Development asked questions about the 100% drug controls that take place at Schiphol.
According to the coaliton MP, these checks ensure that airlines fly less to the Antillean islands. He calls the 100% checks "a politically motivated stunt", which has adverse consequences for the islands. For example, he states that KLM flies to more than three hundred destinations worldwide, but only on Curacao, Aruba, Sint Maarten, Bonaire, Suriname and Venezuela go through 100% checks.
Osepa asks the ministers to pay attention to this.
