Opposition party demands the resignation of Minister Jesus-Leito

WILLEMSTAD - Opposition party MFK believes that Minister Zita Jesus-Leito of Traffic, Transport and Spatial Planning should resign because of the wheelchair ramp at Grote Knip Beach. This is according to the leader of the party, Gilmar "Pik" Pisas.

If she does not step down on November 12, the MFK will call a public meeting of parliament and table a vote of no confidence against her, according to Pisas.

According to Pisas, the party is not against the project at Grote Knip, the party supports the idea that the beach will be more accessible for the disabled. But the construction that is now standing cannot be accepted according to the party.

According to Pisas, Zita Jesus-Leito praised the project in a television interview on October 30. On November 6, she said the ramp has not been licensed. According to the opposition party, the minister must resign because she has shown herself to be unreliable. He also wants the PAR party to apologize to the people of Curaçao for the misinformation surrounding the construction.
