Online mapping session: Who are our Caribbean researchers?

Local | By Press release March 18, 2025

WILLEMSTAD – Local researchers Renske Pin and Steffen van Heijningen are working on the mapping of the Caribbean research community: an initiative that aims to identify and connect researchers working in the scientific and research fields across the ABCSSS islands (Aruba, Bonaire, Curaçao, Sint Maarten, Sint Eustatius, and Saba) and in the diaspora.

On 27-03-2025, an online mapping session will take place, bringing together stakeholders from the region. We want to hear from them how we can better reach researchers and academics, where the blind spots are, and how we can strengthen collaboration.

This session is aimed at local universities, research institutes, policymakers, independent researchers and other key stakeholders involved in science and research in the Caribbean part of the Kingdom. Their input will help create a more comprehensive overview of the academic community and identify the region’s specific research needs.

The online session will take place on Thursday, March 27, from 8.30-10:00 AM AST. Participation is free, but registration is required.
