One Arrested After Armed Robbery on Bread Truck in Saliña

WILLEMSTAD – Police arrested one of the three armed robbers responsible for holding up a bread truck in Saliña early yesterday morning. The suspects attempted to flee but crashed their vehicle into a streetlight in Veeris during a police chase. Officers immediately apprehended a 20-year-old suspect, identified as M.M.A., a Curaçao native, while the other two suspects managed to escape and remain at large. 

High-Speed Chase Ends in Arrest 

According to the police report, the robbery took place around 2:45 AM on Architectenweg in Saliña. Three armed men ambushed the truck’s staff, forcing them to hand over cash from the sales before making a getaway in a car. 

Police quickly launched a search and located the getaway vehicle, leading to a high-speed chase that ended in a crash in Veeris. Officers seized crucial evidence from the scene and continue to investigate. 

Authorities have strong leads on the identities of the two fugitives, and their arrest is expected soon, according to local reports.
