Local | By Correspondent April 14, 2023

WILLEMSTAD - The Public Prosecution Service (OM) is demanding prison sentences of 11 years and 13 years against two men who stood trial on Friday morning for the death of Roland Molenaars in a violent robbery in Schelpwijk in 2019.

A 27-year-old man and a 28-year-old man are accused by the Public Prosecution Service of possession of firearms and two violent robberies, one of a house and one of a car. In addition, the two are accused of manslaughter of 53-year-old Ronald Molenaars

Molenaars was attacked by five masked men in 2019 after they robbed neighbors in an adjoining house. They resisted and a fight ensued. The robbers then came to Molenaars' home where they broke down the door and shot him dead after an altercation.

Earlier, three other men in the same case were irrevocably sentenced to long prison sentences.
