WILLEMSTAD - The platform 'Sevan Brasil' was successfully loaded yesterday on the Chinese ship Hua Rui Long, which will take it to Singapore in the coming weeks.
The oil platform is 85 meters wide and 84 meters long and sails under the Panamanian flag. The rig was built in China in 2012 and can search for oil up to ten kilometers deep.
The vessel carrying the platform can partially sink itself, allowing the Sevan Brasil to slide onto the submerged deck.
That work was carried out yesterday by six tugboats from KTK and four pilot boats from port manager CPA. It is not yet clear when the platform will leave Curaçao.
