OCAN Pays Courtesy Visit to Curaçao Governor

WILLEMSTAD – On Monday, February 9, 2026, board members of the Stichting OCAN paid an official visit to the Governor of Curaçao, Mauritsz de Kort.

Representing OCAN were Lionel Martijn, Director, and Gilberto Morishaw, Chair of the Supervisory Board.

During the meeting, a range of topics was discussed that are relevant to Caribbean Dutch communities in the Netherlands and to strengthening ties within the Kingdom of the Netherlands.

OCAN is committed to improving the position of Caribbean Dutch people and related groups in the Netherlands through projects, advocacy, and activities at both local and interregional levels. The organization provides advice, consultation, project implementation, and social support across various fields, including advocacy, personal and talent development, labor market participation, entrepreneurship, parenting support, combating discrimination and racism, social and community guidance, as well as events and thematic dialogue sessions.

The visit to the Governor provided a valuable opportunity to enhance mutual understanding and cooperation, helping to bridge social advocacy efforts with governmental engagement from the Caribbean part of the Kingdom.
