WILLEMSTAD - The Fédération Internationale de Football Association (FIFA) has appointed three local experts to the normalization committee of the Federashon Futbol Kòrsou (FFK). Reginaldo Carolina has been named chairman, according to a report by Antilliaans Dagblad, following an email from FIFA to the FFK secretariat.

The committee’s composition was finalized after consultations with the regional football organization CONCACAF. According to FIFA, the members of the normalization committee will assume their duties immediately after a suitability review conducted by the FIFA Review Committee, in accordance with FIFA’s Governance Regulations.

FIFA emphasized in its email to the secretariat that, in consultation with CONCACAF, it retains the right to withdraw the mandate of the three committee members or appoint new members at any time. The three appointed board members bring expertise in finance, planning, organization, and information technology.

Reginaldo Carolina, the chairman, has strong ties to local youth football and is an experienced financial and management administrator in both the public and private sectors of Curaçao. Sueena Francisco, the second member, is a partner at Ox & Wolf Legal, specializing in corporate, regulatory, and financial matters. She is also a board member of the Curaçao International Financial Association and the Chair of the Supervisory Board of the University of Curaçao. Jairo Belioso, the third member, is the director and co-owner of tech company Acts NV, and teaches at the Computer Center of the University of Curaçao.

The normalization committee was established by FIFA to lead the restructuring of Curaçaoan football, due to the ongoing critical financial situation of the FFK. The committee will take over daily management tasks, reorganize the administration, and draft a plan for resuming national competitions before September 30, 2024.
