No support for screening committee

WILLEMSTAD - Members of Parliament did not give support for a temporary committee to evaluate the screening law. This is apparent from a letter from Deputy President of the Parliament Eugene Cleopa to Prime Minister Eugene Rhuggenaath.

The screening law means that the integrity of ministers and candidate ministers must be evaluated by a committee.

The reason for the lack of support for the proposal is that the majority of the parliamentary factions do not want to sit on this temporary committee. How the screening act will now have to be implemented is still unclear.
