No public participation in Caribbean Guilder design

WILLEMSTAD - The Central Bank is not making any statements about the design of the Caribbean guilder banknotes. The financial sector regulator is also not organizing a design competition. All of this is to prevent counterfeiters from circulating fake money simultaneously with the introduction of the new currency.

This was stated by the CBCS delegation in Parliament last week. Because the public is still getting used to the Caribbean guilder during its introduction, there is a high likelihood that counterfeit banknotes will be difficult to identify.

The design will be revealed at the launch in the third quarter of 2024.
