No more oil found on Curaçao for several days

Local | By Correspondent March 8, 2024

WILLEMSTAD - No oil has been found on the shores of Curaçao for several days. Three days ago, small traces were still discovered, but since then, none have been found, as stated by the Director of Risk Management & Disaster Policy (DRR), Lesley Fer.

All coastal areas were closely monitored, with particular attention to Shete Boka, Oostpunt, and Christoffel Park.

Fer believes that the intensity of the oil will decrease as almost no oil stains have been found on or around Curaçao. There is also no trace of oil left on Bonaire.

According to Fer, the disaster team, Carmabi, and volunteers will continue to monitor the situation.
