"No evidence that Coronavirus survives poorly at higher temperatures"

WILLEMSTAD - Whether it is more difficult for Coronavirus to survive in higher temperatures is still unknown. Curaçao’s epidemiologist Dr. Izzy Gerstenbluth explains that there is no scientific evidence for this theory yet.

On social media, the message is shared that the virus dies faster if the temperature is higher than 27 degrees. According to Gerstenbluth, this is not confirmed, and it would make little difference anyway. The virus is primarily transmitted from person to person and is only outside the human body for a short time.
