WILLEMSTAD - The police held several traffic checks focused on alcohol abuse last weekend. That happened at various places on the island, including Tera Kora, on the way to the western side of the island and the Jan Thiel area.

315 cars were stopped, but none of the drivers were driving under the influence. However, 33 fines were issued because the vehicle documents were not in order, a number plate was missing, and one was not wearing the seat belt which is against the law.

The police warn that they will intensify these traffic checks.
